Spice Up Forfeits

How to Play Forfeits

Game guides ยท Updated

Forfeits is not a game on its own. It is the one you play alongside the game already on the table. Jenga, Twister, Kings, beer pong, Uno, a hand of poker: keep Spice Up open beside it, and whenever somebody loses a round, tap their name. The app deals what they owe.

How a round goes

  1. Play your own game as normal. The app does not need to know what it is.
  2. Somebody pulls the wrong block, puts a hand down on the wrong colour, or draws the card that loses.
  3. Tap their name under Who lost? A forfeit card is dealt to them straight away.
  4. They do it, or tap Deal another for a different one. Then back to the game.

There is no turn order. Your game decides who goes, and the same person losing three times in a row is just a bad night at Jenga.

The kinds of forfeit

Choose which kinds are in the deck under Kinds. The choice is remembered on your phone for next time.

Built to keep the game moving

Most forfeits are quick, a minute at most, and done where you are standing. Nothing needs a prop, and nobody is sent out of the room.

Some last until the loser's next go, or to the end of the round, and the card says so. Nobody waits for those to finish: the game carries on around them, so the game is the timer. At Playful that might mean taking your next go from somebody's lap. At Wild it might mean going down on someone while everyone else takes their turns, or keeping your own hand steady on the tower while it happens to you. Whoever is on the receiving end can stop it whenever they like, and the safe word stops anything.

Who a forfeit names

Some forfeits name a second player. That person is drawn from the players the loser is compatible with, using each player's gender and "interested in" settings, and never anyone marked as off-limits for them. Every one of those asks first, in the card's own words. A loser with nobody compatible gets forfeits they do alone.

Intensity and limits

The same four levels as every Spice Up game, from Gentle to Wild, on the heat strip at the top. Picking Spicy deals Spicy. A forfeit is checked against the limits and comfort level of everyone it names, so a player capped at Playful is dealt Playful even with the room on Wild.

Forfeits, answered

What games can I play Forfeits with?

Anything with a loser: Jenga, Twister, Kings, beer pong, Uno, poker, charades, or a game you made up. If your game already has drinking rules, leave Drink off and let Forfeits add the rest.

Can someone refuse a forfeit?

Always. Deal another gives them a different one, with nothing to explain, and the safe word in the header stops anything at any time.

How many players do I need?

Two or more, plus whatever your own game needs.

Is Forfeits free?

Yes, completely free. No sign-up required.

Everything above is built into Forfeits in the app. It handles the order, the intensity and who goes next, so nobody has to keep track.
